To throw in Ragdoll Football, become the active quarterback, hike the ball with the context action, then hold the throw input to aim and release it to pass. PC holds and releases Left Click; console holds and releases RT/R2; mobile uses a hold-still gesture and lifts to throw. Choose open landing space before committing.
Start the quarterback sequence
Read the play state before touching the aim input. PC Left Click, mobile tap, and console RT/R2 can hike when the game recognizes you as quarterback. The same inputs tackle or kick in other contexts, so a different result usually means the state or role changed.
After the hike, protect the ball long enough to see receiver spacing. Do not begin a blind hold while your camera points away from the routes. Set a useful view, identify one primary receiver and one safer alternative, then enter aim mode.
Role selection behavior is not fully published by Roblox. A current guide reports a quarterback request in the left-side menu, but selection and availability can change. If you do not receive quarterback responsibility, practice receiver or defender play instead of forcing the menu.
Aim on each platform
On PC, hold Left Click and move the aim before releasing. On console, hold RT/R2 and release. On mobile, keep the touch still until aim mode appears, then lift to throw. The official description confirms those core inputs.
A current walkthrough shows a yellow trajectory arc and a circular landing target. Treat the visuals as community reported because the official public description does not promise their color or shape. Whatever the current version displays, aim at a space the receiver can reach without running through a defender.
Lead a moving receiver rather than throwing at their old location. Use a shorter open option when a deep target is double-covered. The throw that maintains possession is often more valuable than the spectacular attempt.
Cancel a bad pass
PC officially uses X to cancel a throw. Console uses LT/L2. Press cancel while still in the aimed state when the target becomes covered, pressure arrives, or your camera loses the route. Cancellation is a decision tool, not a failed play.
The public mobile mapping does not state a separate cancel input. Look for a visible current control and avoid claiming that a PC key has an automatic touch equivalent. Mobile quarterbacks should reduce accidental aim entries by making taps clearly short and holds clearly deliberate.
After cancelling, reset the camera and choose again. Re-entering the same covered throw immediately defeats the purpose.
Treat Q and E as version-sensitive
A current written guide reports Q for a flatter or lower PC throw and E for another trajectory described as higher or more direct. Its wording is not enough to establish permanent names or exact behavior, and these keys do not appear in the official Roblox description.
If the live game shows those modifiers, watch the trajectory preview rather than relying on a label. Test them with an open teammate and compare the visible path. Do not make Q/E essential to your first passing session; a normal aimed throw is the baseline.
Console and mobile equivalents are not published in the sources checked. Do not invent button combinations to match PC modifiers.
Choose a safer target
Count defenders around the landing space, not only around the receiver’s current body. A defender can close an obvious lane while the ball travels. Prefer separation, a clear angle, and a receiver moving away from coverage.
Use the field boundary as part of the decision. A target too close to the edge has less room to adjust. A pass deep near your own end zone carries extra turnover danger. If no lane is safe, cancel and preserve the play.
For the official 300 Yards badge, the condition is 300 passing yards in one game. It does not require every pass to be deep. Consistent completions can build the total while protecting possession; exact stat timing and invalid-play rules need live confirmation.
Fix common throwing problems
- The input tackles or kicks: you are not in the active quarterback throw context.
- The pass releases early: maintain the hold until the target is ready; on mobile keep the finger still.
- The target follows the wrong area: stabilize the camera before aiming and separate camera input from the throw input.
- Receivers are covered: cancel with X or LT/L2 and choose the safer option.
- Q/E seems reversed or inactive: it is community-reported behavior; trust current visual feedback or use the normal throw.
- Yards do not appear to count: note the completed play and match boundary; official badge text gives the target but not every scoring rule.
Build a passing practice loop
Practice hike, hold, aim, cancel. Repeat until cancellation is comfortable. Then hike, hold, aim at an open short target, and release. Add moving targets only after the sequence is reliable. Finish by reviewing whether the miss came from input, target choice, or receiver timing.
Use the quarterback guide for complete decision responsibility, catching and interceptions to understand the other end of the pass, and 300 Yards for the official single-game passing objective.
